Name : Athrenna Inuma'Yinn
Sex : Female
Age : 398 (at time of death)
Species : Kurosian Dragon
Breed : Yinvaht
Main Element : Water
Minor Element : Air
Relations :
Personality : Athrenna was known best for her patience, stunning beauty, strong presence, and like many Kuros, her cunning nature. She had a way of silencing a room just by standing still and quiet. When she did speak, she had a sweet, comforting voice; yet stern, precise and calculated. The Queen had an air about her that she was always one step ahead of you; and she was. Generous and loving to her people, Athrenna founded the Shinnan Orphanage and would often visit it. However in battle, the Queen was a force to be reckoned with, even when her King died Athrenna ruled Kurosia by herself as no other Kurosian male could meet her skill equally or best it in combat. The Queen was very stern with her people's ways and did not hesitate to act upon them, showing no mercy even to Kurosian offenders. With females, Athrenna was also very flirtatious and had a large harem that she would lavish with gifts.

History : Athrenna was born in a major fishing village by the Black Sea known as Shinnan. The village was a main source of fish to the Kurosian capital and other villages across the Kurosian Mountains. It was mostly populated by Yinvahts and Ibarntang, and had the second largest temple to Araudan the Water Goddess (the first being in Kurosia capital). Athrenna was one of many children to the quiet and humble Inuma, and like her mother and siblings Athrenna grew up fishing alongside them, not expecting grand things in her life other than to aide and support her people.

That unfortunately changed when Shinnan was attacked by a rival enemy to Kurosia. Hoping to hurt Kurosia's main supply of fish and strike at one of their Gods. Athrenna was forced to fight, but due to her lack of experience in fighting she was knocked down and facing death. Before she was killed, Araudan rose from the depths to aide her people. Once the enemy was defeated, Athrenna was left to realize that her village was crumbled and destroyed, her family slain, and only few survivors. After that day, Athrenna swore to her new facial scars to gain strength as so she could protect her people and home.

Athrenna trained heavily and swiftly became the strongest of her village. She realized that her skills could do more than protect her village, so she moved to Kurosia to train more. The Queen recognized Athrenna's strength and eventually awarded her title of Warlordess, and in time became one of the Queen's personal guard. By this time Athrenna was becoming a celebrity among her people, heavily respected and admired for her intelligence and strength. Sometimes, even overshadowing the Queen.

However, the Queen started to grow jealous and intimidated of Athrenna, which the cunning Yinvaht quietly took notice of. The Queen attempted to assassinate her with tricks and sending her to pointless battles and wars in hopes she would die, but Athrenna was sly and avoided death swiftly and gracefully. Athrenna for a time toyed with the Queen, taking her attempts as playful challenges until she eventually had enough of the Queen's pettiness. The Queen was smart to hide her intentions and attempts so she would not be accused by her people, so Athrenna took it upon herself to stop the cowardice. By challenging the Queen for her title.

The battle itself was short, but fierce. The Queen attempted to blind Athrenna, bite into her heels to hinder her, fray her feathers; shame her before death by destroying her beauty. This was her downfall, as Athrenna did not try such spiteful actions and instead, went to kill. She killed the Queen by sending her horn into her throat, and claimed victory. Burdohk was already King, and was in awe of Athrenna's swiftness and strength, but that did not stop him from obeying the customs. In order for Athrenna to truly become Queen, she had to battle Burdohk and both had to not be able to best the other; being true equals. The battle was longer then the previous, as Burdohk was a very old Brokt with immense strength and experience. The two battled for an entire day, but as it ended, both fell in exhaustion. Burdohk had a new Queen.

Both ruled for centuries. Athrenna bore many children, and showered her people with prosperity and love, but ruled them sternly and true to the Kurosian way.

One fateful day, Athrenna was returning with her Silverwing warriors when she spotted a baby Kuros flying towards her city. Non-Kurosian dragons were in chase, attempting to kill the child. Swiftly, the Silverwings killed the warriors, and Athrenna flew to greet the baby Shire. The child was stunned by her appearance, but with coarsening introduced herself as Feuriah. She claimed to be born in Warfang, and had run away as the dragons there attempted to kill her. Telling Athrenna her years of abuse and neglect, the Queen sensed this as truth and grew infuriated. This was an act of war, but had to ensure that Feuriah wanted to truly be with her people. Athrenna allowed the child to lead them to Warfang, show them the weakness in the city's defenses, and sneak them in. Filled with hate Feuriah did so without hesitation, and in one final display of loyalty to her people, Athrenna asked Feuriah to kill her own father. The child did so with anger and fury, proving her loyalty and impressing the Queen.

Athrenna placed the child in the Shinnan Orphanage, and over the years watched Feuriah grow. The child, ever since laying her eyes on her, was inspired by Athrenna and the love of their people, strove to be Queen. Athrenna sensed that Feuriah was unique, special, but she did not ease up on Feuriah as she grew. She trained Feuriah hard when she was tested to be a royal guard, only growing more and more impressed the century it took for Feuriah to finally be among her most trusted and strongest guard. She knew, Feuriah would one day replace her.

However, after Burdohk's death in battle, Athrenna was faced with a sickening rival. A shire known as Kurogh was a celebrated and ruthless Warlord, but Athrenna saw through his lust for selfish power. She sensed Kurogh's twisted nature, and did everything in her power to beat him when he challenged her to be King. No matter the danger, Athrenna did not kill him. He was the greatest Warlord Kurosia had to offer, killing him would be too great a loss, so she begrudgingly let him live. No male could best her or meet her strength in battle, so for decades Athrenna ruled by herself.

Yet, as most kuros do, Athrenna met her end in battle. Struck down, Athrenna fell to the earth and felt Mahoura calling her soul. Yet, before she passed, Athrenna gazed up into the tearfilled eyes of her beloved guard Feuriah. The Queen knew, once she was dead, Kurogh would strive to rule Kurosia. She warned Feuriah that he was a danger to their people, and Feuriah had to take her place. Athrenna then died, gazing up at the dragoness she hoped would save her people.

Facts :
  • Athrenna had a harem of females, but knew each one by name, their families, and spent most of her freetime with them. Reading, studying, singing and simply enjoying their company instead of what most inspect from a harem, although that was still involved it wasn't what Athrenna looked for for the most part.
  • Athrenna was greatly amused when her son, Kruta, became Feuriah's Mjol (Kurosian equivalent of boyfriend)
  • Athrenna had a personal shrine to Araudan in her chambers in respect to the Goddess stepping in to fight for Shinnan, which is something the trickster goddess rarely does.
  • The Queen enjoyed teasing Feuriah
  • Athrenna usually wears her helmet as she feels shame in her facial scars; to her, they symbolized her failure to protect her village when she received them. The helmet is also made from her own mother's bones, the additional two horns were fitted to replicate her own mother's hornset.
  • Athrenna almost never slept in the same bed as Burdohk. Instead, she enjoyed sleeping surrounded by her beloved harem
  • Little did Feuriah know, Athrenna was the one that gave her the Athrenna Plush when she was a child

One of the many, many references I needed to do x-x

Athrenna is still one of my favorite characters, I hold her closer to my heart than most. I tweaked her design a little bit, and I still need to draw up her armored up, but it's really nice to have a reference sheet of her ;u; I have one for Lost Queen started, and I really need to update Havok's too, but it takes me a million friggen years to do refs =n=

Enjoy!

The Kuros are a species & culture created by myself, Weird Hyenas, and collaborated with Koofins, based on Cynder’s appearance from “Legend of Spyro : A New Beginning”. The culture is heavily inspired by Celtic origins, while the language and names are more specifically attuned to Irish/Gaelic. Kuros are not canon in the LoS games, but are fan made by myself. Please do not take their likeness for your own, if you're inspired by them please be respectful and source me in some way.

Please do not repost, edit, trace, use as your own as icons, banners, IDs, etc without my given permission. Thank you!

Beautiful regal Dragoness. Always loved her and her awesome blue colors and feathers!

I am curious of something, though. Who was the Queen before her?
